The CME Group increased its margins for crude oil futures in the United States by 25 percent as of the close trading on May 10 to reduce oil costs following a $5 per barrel on Monday.

The move comes after a raged and unstable week of oil business that saw crude costs in the U.S. decline from more than $114 per barrel, the highest level since 2008, to $94 per barrel. That reduction was part of a broader necessities sell-off last week, urged in part by sharp increases in margins by 84 percent in silver over the last two weeks.

The crude prices in the country, which recovered from the disturbance last week to pay off $5.37 at $102.55 per barrel on Monday, traded down following news of the increase in margin, off $1 per barrel at one part in late activity in New York. Moreover, CME, parent of the Chicago Board of Trade, posted on its website that it had climbed margins on the New York Mercantile Exchange for crude oil futures by $1,250 per contract.

With open interest in the contract peaking 1.65 million lots last week, that will sum to a more than $2 billion jump in total. Margins are deposits paid by the investors in future markets, where complete payment is made in the maturity of the contracts, to a trade or clearing house to cover the danger of default by that investor and usually are based on the biggest most-possible everyday move in the market.

Still, margins can also be employed as equipment to curb tentative business activity, specifically hot money, by declining the amount of positions that a party can hold by leveraging a specific amount of money. CME also raised financial futures margins of Brent by 23.8 percent, while the gasoline margins of RBOB were climbed by 21.7 percent.

Manny Pacquiao won against Shane Mosley by unanimous decision and kept his WBO Welterweight Title.

Pacquiao, which is known for being the Pound-for-Pound King, conquered Mosley with a score of 119-108, 120-108 and 120-107. In addition, Pacquiao won his 14th straight fight and keeps one of the ten titles he earned.

On the other hand, Mosley is a three-time world champion but lost many of his last six matches. However, Mosley, which is 39-year-old American, was an obvious a second best fighter in their bout, in part from having won only two of Mosley’s five matches.

Moreover, he also bears difficult defeats to Miguel Cotto and Floyd Mayweather and a draw with Sergio Mora. The main reason why Pacquiao, 32-year-old Filipino boxer, was the weighty favorite was because of his own supremacy of late.

Pacquiao was the preliminary fighter ever to get ten world titles in eight weight divisions, from flyweight to super welterweight. The Ring Magazine, among other publications, position Pacquiao as the best Pound-for-Pound Boxer in the world.

Entering the fight on Saturday night, he had won 14 straight fights and recorded a professional record of 52 wins, two draws and three losses, with 38 of those wins come by a knockout. Pacquiao’s excellent record, clear international appeal and skill, particularly in Southeast Asia, have helped him one of the most known and admired fighter in the world.

Still, the Filipino boxer from General Santos City, Philippines, has proven that he not only a simple fighter, but he is also a Congressman as he was elected last year in the Philippines. He also dabbed in the politics in the United States, with Harry Reid, the Senate Majority Leader, crediting the appearance of the Filipino boxer at a last-minute rally last year.

Nissan Motor was selected to design and provide a cab for New York City and Limousine Commission, the biggest cab fleet in the United States, beginning in late 2013.

The Nissan taxi, a customized version of NV200 compact vehicle of the company already available in China, Europe and Japan, will be manufactured at the factory of Nissan in Cuernavaca, Mexico. The contract deal between two companies was worth $1 billion over one decade.

In addition, the base model, with a sticker cost of $29,000 beat out the finalists from Karsan of Turkey and Ford Motor. However, the latter stated on Tuesday that it will continue to operate with the city to put more taxis from Ford on the streets right away.

On the other hand, Nissan will also work with New York City on a direct program to analyze electric and zero emission automobiles as taxis. Carlos Tavares, the top executive of Nissan in North America, stated that the carmaker is proud to give the next generation of taxis in New York City. Michael Bloomberg, mayor of New York City, said in news meeting with Tavares on Tuesday in City Hall that it is going to be the most convenient and safest cab that the city will ever had.

Still, not everyone was happy with the selection. Bill De Blasio, public advocate of the city censured the mayor for giving the deal to Nissan that is based abroad without looking for any assurances for investment on their local and nationwide economies. The 13,200 vehicles cab fleet of New York ships 600,000 commuters every day. From 2013, Nissan will be the official provider of cabs in the city. The average of cab in New York City travels 70,000 miles per annum.

According to senior officials, they distinguished the verified the body of Osama bin Laden using the family members’ DNA of the most terrible leader of al-Qaeda.

Officials compared the DNA of the person they killed at the compound of Abbottabad with the DNA of bin Laden’s family to find out that the mastermind on the 9/11 terrorist attack had been really killed. However, it was not clear how many samples of different family members were compared or whose DNA was used.

In addition, during the press meeting on Monday afternoon, John Brennan, the adviser of President Barack Obama on homeland security and counterterrorism stated that they had preliminary DNA brains ahead of the attack. The officials added that among the five people killed in the compound, one of them was the adult son of Osama.

Moreover, to distinguish more if the body was bin Laden, a visual ID was created. There were comparisons of photo and other facial identification used to recognize him. The second official added with regard to the DNA test, there was complete biometric study of body and facial features.

Dr. Victor Weedn, a forensic pathologist who assisted establish the DNA identification program of the military, claimed that it is possible that the military will have samples of high-status terrorists like Osama. The doctor also said that the government of the United States will have an interest in seeking for samples of DNA anywhere they may search for it, whether from the members of the family or even places he may have been, and keep those samples.

Basically, scientists take DNA from the body of a person, and compare it to another source, such as gathered from the person at a previous period, or the DNA of a close member of Osama’s family.

After Osama bin Laden’s death, Ayman al-Zawahiri, an Egyptian-born surgeon and doctor, is expected to be Osama’s successor for al-Qaeda.

Zawahiri has been the brain behind the al-Qaeda network and most of the times, his public face frequently reproving the United States and its supporters in video messages. In the newest monitored by the SITE Intelligence Group in April, Zawahiri advocated Muslims to fight the forces of the United States and North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in Libya.

He stated that he wants to draw the attention of their Muslims brother sin Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and the rest of the Muslim nations, that if the forces of America and NATO enter Libya and its neighbors in Algeria, Tunisia and Egypt and the rest of the Muslim nations must emerge and fight both the rest of NATO and mercenaries of Gaddafi.

In addition, born into an upper class family of doctors and scholars in uptown neighborhood of Cairo, the intellectual Egyptian in his late 50s is number two in position after Osama on the list of the most wanted terrorists of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Both Zawahiri and Osama escaped arrest when the forces of the U.S. ousted the Taliban government in Afghanistan way back in 2001 after the 09/11 attack of al-Qaeda on U.S. cities. However, bin Laden was killed on Sunday in a firefight with the forces of the U.S. and his body was recovered, President Barack Obama stated. There was no statement on Zawahiri’s part.

Adorned with grey beard and hair, Zawahiri won fame last November 2008, when he assaulted then the new elect President Obama as a house Negro, a culturally-charged term used by Malcolm X, the leader of black American Muslim in 1960, to illustrate black slaves loyal to white masters. In a following video, Zawahiri came back in September 2009, to the assault on President Obama, saying he was no different from his antecedent ex-President George W. Bush.

Almost 154 million in the U.S., or over half of the population of the country, live in places where the air is extremely polluted that it is frequently unsafe to breathe. On the other hand, resident s of Santa Fe-Espanola, New Mexico and Honolulu, Hawaii are among the nation’s cleanest air.

In addition, Santa Fe and Honolulu were the only two in the U.S. that had no days in which the levels of soot and smog reached harmful ranges. On the contrary, residents in California, which is known for its healthy lifestyle, are breathing some of the worst and unclean air.

This report was issued in State of the Air 2011, which was published on April 27. Moreover, approximately 17 million people in the U.S. live in places troubled by all three air pollution risks. This concerns scientists since study recommends that air pollution threatens the health of people, and not simply the lungs.

Michael Jerrett, University of California, Berkeley’s School of Public Health’s professor of environmental health sciences, said that on days in which the levels of smog spike, there is an increase admission in the hospital for stroke, heart attacks and respiratory diseases in the two or three days following the smog.

Jerette cautioned that aside from posing short-term and long-term risks, air pollution can also contribute to stroke, heart attack, heart illness, diabetes, low birth weights and eventually, shorter life spans. This is because, in part, of dangerous changes caused by severe exposure to air pollution.

Dr. Norman Edelman, American Lung Association’s chief medical officer, said that small debris of air pollution can lodge deep in the lungs, causing an inflammatory process that, eventually, can spread somewhere else in the human body and harm the heart and blood vessels.

Deutsche Bank reported on Thursday that its first quarter income increased 17 percent from the same quarter last 2010 with regard on investment banking performance.

The earnings of the bank hit €2.1 billion, while the shares jumped €1.68, or four percent, to €43.48 in midmorning trading in Frankfurt. On the contrary, Banco Santander reported on Thursday earnings of €2.1 billion, equivalent to the profit of Deutsche Bank, but down five percent from the same quarter in 2010.

The reduction stems typically from continental Europe, where the bank saw a 14 percent drop in income to €1.1 billion. According to Josef Ackermann, Deutsche Bank’s head, the biggest bank in Germany, called it a thriving beginning for this year and repeated his aim of €10 billion in pre-tax profits for this year, of which €3 billion were posted for its first quarter, normally the strongest of the year.

Of that €3 billion, the investment banking division of the lender alone reported €2.6 billion in pre-tax profits. Deutsche Bank, which generated large bets against the American mortgage market before it fell down, appeared as one of the winners of the crisis financially, and is employed its strengthened place to increase, a move that is now obviously paying off.

Ackermann noted that the firm planned to keep on investing on their franchise. Net income for the bank stood at €10.5 billion, increased 16 percent for the year before. Its outcomes stand in severe contrast to the poorer presentation being posted nu some of its peers this season of revenue, with lenders from Goldman Sachs to UBS reporting drops in income.

Santander, for its portion, said that income art its British unit had also declined by £9 million, or two percent, to £419 million for the first quarter, having been extremely impacted by authoritarian changes.

The car manufacture of Toyota Motor in Japan dropped a shocking 62.7 percent last month because of crisis in parts supply following the double disaster that hit the country.

Toyota Motor, the last year’s top-selling automaker in the world, stated on Monday that its local manufacture last month was 129,491 vehicles. The global production of the company fell 29.9 percent year-on-year to 542,465 vehicles on March.

The dual catastrophes wrecked several plants in northeastern part of Japan, causing serious parts deficiencies for the company and other manufacturers of vehicles. The crisis on parts supply forced Toyota to delay manufacture in the country that results in manufacture loss of 260,000 cars up to date.

In addition, the sales of the company fell 45 percent. According to the auto giant, its car manufacture will not go back to normal until November or December, endangering its rank as the top-selling automaker all over the world.

Last year, the company sold 8.42 million cars, hardly maintaining its lead over a renascent General, Motors (GM), which sold 8.39 million, thanks to successful sales in China. Given that the production of Toyota woes after the quake and tsunami, GM can regain the title as the biggest automaker in the world that it lost in 2008.

On the other hand, while the company has resumed its manufacture in Japan, its plants have been working at a lessened production. The company stated that they have more slashes in manufacture at its plants in other parts of Asia.

Toyota also stated that its factories in eight nations in Asia, such as India and Thailand, will resume working with 50 percent capacity from April 25 to June 4. Moreover, the company added that the plants in these countries will resume working for three days every week during the specified period.

The New York Times Company said that its net profits for the first quarter dropped 57.6 percent to $5.4 million compared with $12.8 million of the same period last year.

The weak spot in print marketing, joined with an unpredicted fall in profits at About.com, led to income of four cents per share before particular items were barred, compared with eight cents per share in the same period last year.

The company did report development in one significant area. In the first glance at how its plan for digital subscription is charging, The New York Times stated that it had signed up over 100,000 subscribers since March 28, when it started limiting the amount of articles that viewers can read free from NYTimes.com.

The company also stated that the program was still young to be affirmed a success; early indications showed that the readers were responding well. According to Janet Robinson, Times Company’s Chief Executive Officer, while the promotion marketplace stays challenging, they are certain that the path they have been chasing to change their community is the appropriate one.

The CEO also said that the complete cost of digital subscriptions start at $15 and it was renew every month, but most of their subscribers have paid an economical introductory rate of 99 cents for one month access. The amount of subscribers who have renewed at complete cost has been strong so far.

She added that The Times had also seen a rise in subscriptions to the print edition of the paper, which Robinson claimed that it was an outcome of print subscribers that received free digital access. On the other hand, traffic to NYTimes.com, which the company had projected can fall by almost 15 percent once it begun charging for the access, has been on average with anticipations.
