Ford Explorer 2011 received the Truck of the Year award at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit Michigan on Tuesday.
The all new Ford Explorer 2011 competed against various crossover SUVs such as Honda Odyssey, Ford Edge, Dodge Durango, Mercedes-Benz R-Class, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Toyota Sienna, Kia Sportage/Infiniti QX56, Lincoln MKX, and Hyundai Tucson.
In the recent year, the Ford gained its momentum for a sales rebound. Due to the strong sales that the company acquired on their new car models, it boosts the company’s confidence, which can be observed on its new products.
The re-designed Ford Explorer model for 2011 caught the interest of auto industry enthusiasts and analysts.
Ford vehicle designer Moray Callum said that they are hopeful for people to see that their new product remained as Explorer, which in the same time carry new features and design.
The vehicle can sets up to seven people and has a capability to reach about 20 miles per gallon. It designer said that the redesign model has a great quality than its SUV predecessor. Callum added that new Explorer has a great fit and finish with superior craftsmanship, which amount started at $28,000.
Aside from the things Ford can offer for their new SUV car, the company tries to reinvent the new look of its minivan, by giving a new touch with the all new 2012 Ford C-Max.
C-Max Brand Manager Wendy King noted that Ford see how North Americans started their new life as young and active people with busy lifestyles, the reason why they want to bring and offer a multi-activity vehicle for them.
As of this moment, the company remained silent about the cost of its new C-Max model, which Ford touted sporting in hybrid version.
