Mitch Hedberg: His Legacy

Mitchell Lee Hedberg was a stand-up comedian known for his strange humor and eccentric comedic delivery.  He was born on February 24, 1968 at Saint Paul Minnesota and grew up there with his parents Arne and Mary Hedberg.
Hedberg began his career as a stand-up comedian in Florida, and after some time crafting his talent, he went to Seattle and began touring. He appeared on MTV’s “Comikaze”. However, his big break was when he appeared on “The Late Show with David Letterman” in the year 1996. The year after that, he won the 1997 first prize at the Seattle Comedy Competition and with the succeeding years, Mitch’s career skyrocketed.
In 1999, he wrote, directed, produced and starred in his very own independent film “Los Enchiladas”. He also recorded three comedy CDs. Earlier that year, she was married to a Canadian comedienne Lynn Shawcroft, whom he met in Montreal.
Hedberg admitted that he’s into drugs, which evidently, using it in some of his jokes. In May 2003, he was arrested in Austin, Texas for possession of the substance heroin. Later on March 30, 2005, he was found dead in a hotel room in Livingston, New Jersey. Doctors reported that the cause of death is due to “multiple drug toxicity”, in the form of cocaine and heroin. The funeral was at St. Ambrose of Woodbury in Minnesota.
In memories of Mitch Hedberg, the Paramount Theatre in business district Anderson will show his film “Los Enchiladas”, also they will show never before seen stand up and backstage footage. The show is scheduled to be shown on August 12, at 7 P.M. Hedberg’s TV primer will be shown also and on the latter part of the show, there will going to have a question and answer session with his parents and wife Lynn Shawcroft.
Hedberg will always be remembered as a stand-up comedian with unconventional way of comedic antics, never failing to wow the crowd.
